Watching back-to-back guilty pleasures this afternoon while sipping whiskey and recovering from a nasty head cold. First, I saw Constantine, and now the original John Wick. I’m not a huge Keanu Reeves fan, but I’ll watch these two films just about anytime I see them on.
Snow day reading: American Gods, the graphic novel edition. Story is holding up exceedingly we’ll, and the artwork is amazing.
I know I am late to the party, but I finally watched ANNIHILATION this afternoon. Like INTERSTELLAR and ARRIVAL, this one will be floating around in my head for a while. Excellent film with a few really good scares thrown in for good measure.
With the boy watching our second robotics competition at Walsh Middle School in Framingham.
Tonight’s viewing: The House that Dripped Blood, 1971 from Amicus, staring Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing. Solid horror anthology. Lots of atmosphere.
Hot apple cider and maple whiskey is my new winter jam. 😋
Trying to be more intentional in what I read and how I interact with it. Sort of a slow roll to a personal learning system. As stability is more important to me than #popularity I am eschewing Evernote and its brethren and instead started playing around with Microsoft’s OneNote this morning. Seeing some potential.
Fueling up for my first trip to the gym in 2019.
Saw a news report earlier this afternoon about revelers in Times Square who had been there for hours and were wearing diapers due to the bathroom situation. No thanks. I’ll take my middle age, suburban New Year’s Eve. Chinese food, whiskey and an Indiana Jones marathon on TV with the family. #LifeIsGood
